The CHILDE eyewear collection is designed in Byron Bay and hand made by boutique, optical manufacturers, using the most eco friendly Italian materials available in the industry.

CHILDE use sustainable, eco-friendly and bio-degradable materials wherever they can.

The CHILDE Eyewear collection is defined by 2 distinct eco-sensitive frame materials and design aesthetics.

Crafted from premium Mazzuchelli M49 bio-acetate which is made from organic compounds of wood and cotton pulp fibres. Built to last a lifetime as eyewear but is also 100% bio-degradable under controlled industrial composting conditions of International standard ISO 14855.

M49 Bio-Acetate is 100% eco-friendly, 100% bio-degradable and 100% recyclable.

Sunglass frames are made from a plant based grilamid polymer made from 61% renewable resources. This polymer is petrochemical free and dramatically reduces carbon emissions.

To compliment our eco conscious frames they use plant based bio lenses that are light, scratch resistant and provide premium optical clarity.

WARRANTY POLICY

CHILDE offers frame and lens warranty for a lifetime on all defective product.

We do not cover usual wear and tear including damage from abuse or mishandling or dropping, sitting or stepping on your shades.

We also don't cover your beautiful children or dogs, cats or other pets sacrificing your favourite pair of shades 

You need to LOVE and appreciate your CHILDE please

CHILDE Eyewear Frames Warranty Policy

The CHILDE Hand Made Bio collection has a lifetime warranty on the Italian Bio-acetate frames.

The Childe WiLDe plant based collection has a 12 month warranty on the frames.

We understand that sometimes you can scratch your lenses in your day to day lifestyle activities. 

This shouldn’t be the end of your favourite pair of shades though.

We want you to enjoy your favourite CHILDE for LIFE

We teamed up with award winning company The Sunglass Fix to provide replacement lenses so your sunglasses can be enjoyed for a lifetime 

CHILDE for LIFE will replace your lenses FREE for the first 12 months and then at a very reasonable cost there after.

Who are we?

Starfish Studio is a little studio on beautiful Stradbroke Island, nestled between Moreton Bay and the Coral Sea.   Jess is a visual artist who trained in Fine Art and has been practising her art for 20 years.  She has been living on Stradbroke for most of her career and is raising her family there surrounded by the sand, salt and crystal clear waters.

Our designs

She creates her designs on paper with pen and ink or graphite and then has them printed onto a range of gorgeous fabrics for the homewares range.  The dramatic and beautiful landscape of the Island is evident as inspiration in her designs, which look fantastic in any home.

Her work is designed and manufactured in  Australia – which is good for everyone…Custom orders are always welcome and she can colour match and have your favourite designs printed to order on your choice of fabric.
